A Guide to the Primary Sources of the Salem Witch Trials
Entries in the Salem Witchcraft Papers
Cross-Referenced to Records of the Salem Witch-Hunt
This page cross-references the entries from the Salem cases in Salem Witchcraft Papers (SWP) with Records of the Salem Witch-Hunt (Records). The two works are organized entirely differently. Most current citations in the literature are to SWP, so this list is to help readers and researchers make the transition from the older reference to the newer one a little easier. Page references in the note sections refer to SWP. I am still working on cleaning up the notes.
The items listed on this page as being in Records do not represent the entire contents of Records, only the same documents that appear in SWP. For the complete contents of Records -- including 71 additional items not included in SWP -- please consult this list.
NOTE: Boyer and Nissenbaum's 3-volume Salem Witchccraft Papers is long out of print, but is available on-line at the University of Virginia.
